Institue for Ferrous Metallurgy

Stanisław Staszic Institute for Ferrous Metallurgy was founded by the then Provisional Government of Poland in1945. In 1946, the Institute moved to Gliwice where its laboratories and technical facilities were built in the 50s and 60s.

In the 1990s, the Institute actively joined the work on restructuring of the iron and steel industry in Poland. The activities of the Institute produced numerous analytical and planning works, studies, and opinions as well as consulting services provided for state administration and enterprises in the steel sector. The experience gained, co-operative contacts established and development of its human potential has made business consulting provided by the Institute a regular element of its activity profile.
